Many years in this business and I had never seen an SB-5 in its original box and with all its components and manuals. But here it is, this elusive piece finally becomes part of the Niko-Film collection, waiting for a buyer who knows how to value a possibly unrepeatable object. And for our followers a series of quality photos of this kit, as it is not even possible to find photos of it on the internet.

It may not be the flash for everyone as it was mainly designed for photojournalists. It was the most powerful flash in the Nikon product line available for the Nikon F2 series models before the TTL’ flash capable Nikon SB-11.

The kit is coming with the SU-1 alight sensor that makes the SB-5 automatic. It can be mounted on the side of the flash head or on the camera hot shoe using accessory Extension Cord SC-9 which also supplies sync to the flash unit, so no other sync cord is required.

Also included the SN-2 NiCd rechargeable battery unit and the SH-2 quick battery charger. The SN-2 NiCd rechargeable batteries have been removed from their container because they are no longer functional. A modern rechargeable battery pack can be supplied on request.
