Shop.- Another gem has arrived to the Shop! The Nikon MF-10

The truth is that it is quite difficult to find information about some older Nikon products. And when these products are rare, or handmade by request, the search for information becomes even more difficult. Before we start talking about the Nikon F2 Data and the MF-10 we must thank the community of the mir.com web site for the incredible task of collecting information (which we use ourselves). Without going any further, this post would not be possible without the information from their site, so don’t hesitate to visit their website.

Back to the post: One of the hard to find pieces of Nikon has arrived to the shop. In this case we are talking about the Nikon MF-10 data back, which is only compatible with the Nikon F2 Data. This device allows the user to enter data such as dates or locations and superimpose that data on the picture.

Undoubtedly, a very rare and hard to find device that we are very proud to have in our store.

According to Mir:

“The Nikon F2 data camera is probably one of the rarest in number among all Nikon F2 series models. Believing it or not – based on info made available on Hiura Shinsaku’s Rare Nikon SLR bodies site – These bodies are actually all handmade to order !”

“These are believed to be the only two data-recording camera systems produced by Nikon, both based on slightly modified F2 bodies. The special feature found herein would enable photographer to record time, date and a small amount of handwritten information on the side of each frame as it is exposed. Both use a special camera back, a special focusing screen “Type-S” and a special removable mask at the film plane to keep light from the lens off the area where data is recorded.”
